Nikki Puroff-Main
Nikki Puroff-Main began her musical studies at the age of 4 on both Piano and age 7 on the Violin. Her teachers included several Professors at the University of Michigan and The Wayne State School of Music. She began playing professionally at the age of 13. Nikki began teaching privately while still in High School and attended Wayne State University School of Music majoring in Performance while studying Voice as well.
Ms Main attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts Summer Camps while in Junior High and High School. While in college, she performed locally after having started the Silver Strings Entertainment agency with her sister Linda, in 1975. During that time, she served as Choirmaster for St Clements Orthodox Church in Dearborn, and as Artist in Residence at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church and Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Birmingham. While continuing to perform with community groups, such as Dearborn Symphony, and Rochester Symphony, she has also had the distinction of performing in back up orchestras for Bob Hope, Tony Bennet, Dionne Warwick, Toni Tenille, Marvin Hamlisch, and many others while on tour in Michigan. She has performed for 4 Presidents, over the last 40 years, as well. During the mid 1970s, she performed during several fundraisers with then, First Lady Roslynn Carter. Currently, Ms Main continues to perform for private and corporate events while teaching violin in the private sector.
